Classes and Workshops
Thank you so much for your interest in Jelly Jam Time Classes. I am no longer offering regularly scheduled classes. I am available for special events and programming.
RISA IS ALSO OFFERING TRAININGS FOR THE STAFF OF YOUR SCHOOL: PRESCHOOL, DAYCARE, ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS training teachers in her unique and child-centered story-dance classes using creative movement games and songs. Contact Risa for more information. This training is perfect for TK teachers with little to no experience with Early Childhood and wanting to build active literacy into their routines.
Risa's main class offering is the Story dancing class for young children ages 3-8. This is a fantastic class to bring to your preshool, daycare or kindergarten community as the movement class of your dreams! Stories are carefully chosen and developmentally appropriate. There are other classes and workshops to choose from for all ages. These classes are now offered as additions to your special events as engaging workshops . peruse below. . .
Story Dancing- Jelly Jam Time's main squeeze!
Perfect for your Preschool, Daycare or Kindergarten!!!!
Ages 3-7
In this class, everything moves. A story comes to life, and teacher Risa gracefully guides the students through a dramatic story adventure with dance and movement activities, theatrical play and storytelling extraordinaire. Each 30-60 minute - long class explores one story in depth and we become all of the many components of the tale- the silent and the loud, the fast and the slow, the good and the bad, much to the delight of all the participants. Older children create their own stories after getting familiar with the structure.
Risa can cater stories to support your sites' curriculum and interests.
Toddler Songs, Movement, Stories and Dances
Ages 1-3
This class is for your daycare center or toddler school!
It incorporates all of the principles of Jelly Jam Time; allowing kids to be kids! Risa introduces dance concepts and theatrical explorations. Risa gently invites all children in this class to move, sing and play as she guides them through a 20-30 minute class.
Play-filled Art
Ages 3-5, and 5-8
Bring a new level of playfulness and creativity to your young artists. This class studies work from contemporary artists and dadaists and surrealists and truly allows the students to explore a variety materials and mediums. This class uses recycled materials whenever possible! This is a process-based class that often has fantastic products due to the intentionality of the lesson plans.
Puppets and Storytelling
Ages 6-adult
In this class or workshop, the groups work to craft a cohesive story whilst exploring some basic puppet construction and manipulation.
